sometimes you need to become corporate to find your independence. nothing is easy to do without money and we should applaude mike judge for using his dough to help promote the animation show and all the great talents it supports. same goes for the rest of those guys.

This is ALL BULLSHITE like MY BUTT>

lucas and speilberg are basically independent. if they didnt create the industry, they wouldnt have the power that they have to make the movies they want to make. so wouldnt they be indies.

this is stupider than bernie's last article about that informatiional animaiton book. how about taking a look at the greater picture and seeing that not everyone does things within the system. i myself think to be a non conformist and i bet that most indepndent animators are, otherwise they would be choosing a different industry. let the industry come to you, not you coming to it.

I think there are some good points in this, the world is indeed changed the way it watches everything, not just animation, and I think it is important for creators of all industry to take notice and adapt. The powerful people will hopefully help the less powerful, but if they do not at least there is You Tube.

Fuck Don and Mike, they just posted the new lineup for the next Animation Show and it's just the same tired shit. They pretend there some kind of hard choice to make, when it is just their films and their friends films. Liars. If we had more Don and Mike's it would just mean more sellouts.

i disagree with waht ken wrote, and think the janitor is right, we do need more people like mike judge because he gives the smaller people chances. i looked at the animation show lineup for this year and only 2 or 3 of the people are repeats from past shows, so you cannot really say that it was decided without thinking through all the submissions. i have not heard of many of the filmmakers that are screening with the animation show, but i do think it might be nice to see a travelling show with more work you haven't heard of like the ottawa best of that seems to show everywhere. hope more people feel the same way.
